Ever wonder why the story of your favourite movie was so compelling to you? Ever wonder how the characters in your favorite TV show were portrayed? Is the representation of women in the media biased? How can we use AI/ML tools to understand these aspects at the big data scale of media.
These are some of the questions that we study at the Center of Computational Media Intelligence (CCMI) at the Viterbi School of Engineering. At CCMI, we aim to develop human-centered AI technologies to develop a holistic media intelligence. This year we are organizing a 10-month workshop in conjunction with Google to encourage students to explore their interests in this area. Join us and explore opportunities to learn ML technologies and interact with leaders in industry and academia -- and hopefully be inspired to pursue engineering and be a leader in building media intelligence in your own way!
The workshops organized by the Center for Computational Media Intelligence (CCMI) at the Viterbi School of Engineering in conjunction with Google LLC. CCMI is a pioneer in the development of media intelligence that aims to computationally understand the who, what, where, how and why - type questions in entertainment (TV, movies, ads, News, etc). CCMI is situated at the intersection of human-centered AI and the world of entertainment and commercial media.
