MUPET (Mice Ultrasonic Profile ExTraction) is an open access MATLAB tool for conducting automated and high-throughput analyses of mouse USVs.
Using a fully automated and unsupervised signal processing approach, MUPET measures, learns, and compares syllable patterns, enabling users to assess fine details of syllable production and use across large numbers of mouse strains and experimental conditions
Its features include:
User-defined parameters for audio file preprocessing
GF-USV feature extraction, and analysis of basic spectro-temporal call parameters
GUI to build syllable repertoires
Autonmatic syllable detection
Acoustical dataset analysis
Repertoire learning and syllable categorization
Measuring repertoire similarity
The latest version of MUPET can be downloaded from the software repository here.
A tutorial for the software tool can be found here.
