Tracking Individual Performance
with Sensors study

Compensation

You can earn up to $500 for taking part in this study. Your total compensation will depend on the length of your participation and/or your engagement in wearing daily sensors and responding to daily surveys. The research team will offer weekly incentives for wearing sensors and completing surveys. Each week, you can earn a pre-paid Visa gift card worth between $15 and $40.

At the end of your participation in the study, the research team will give prizes to the 3 individuals who have earned the most points (point are obtained by wearing sensors and completing surveys on a daily basis) over the course of the study. The research team will give $250 (1st place), $200 (2nd place), and $150 (3rd place) pre-paid Visa gift cards to the top 3 individuals.

2 hours total: Initial Ground Truth Survey (1 hour) and sensor set-up session

-  Wear Fitbit Charge 2, OmSignal, and Android Jelly

-  Sync to apps
-  Answer 2 daily surveys

In addition to monetary compensation, you will be given a Fitbit Charge 2 at the beginning of the study so that the research team can collect physiological information. You will be allowed to keep the Fitbit Charge 2 after your participation in the study has ended.

If you receive more than $600 per year for taking part in one or more research studies, you may be required to pay taxes on that money. This does not include any payments you receive to pay you back for expenses like parking fees. You may receive an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form 1099 if you receive more than $600 in one year for taking part in one or more research studies.
